here's the back. now why would the nice side with the logo be designed to face toward the back where you can't see it? instead i have to look at the purple ink stamped dull side. looks like there may have been some miscommunication somewhere and they just left it alone or it was a brilliant move because they sold me 2. ruined the first one buy putting it on backwards thinking the logo would face forward where you can see it. silly me. I had drilled holes for mounting things

Hey I bought one and it looks very similar!

Will carb cleaner or brake clean take the ink off?

It probably seems backward, I'm planning on (eventually) black powder coat, to downplay it a little bit.

My engine fits in there fine, but both motor mounts seem like they are about to let go.

The engine is offset towards the passenger so the long side goes on the driver side.

That motor plate appears to be made correctly to me. The ink side is usually the "good" side so the machine shop protects the good side and machines on the back side.

The ink wipes off with thinner or carb spray or brake spray or anything like that.

I was able to get the ink off with brake clean, then rubbed it down with some Wizard's metal polish.

Ok. But why is the logo on the back side? Wouldnt that be good advertisement? Its like having the logo on your valve covers on the inside.

I too thought it strange to hide the logo. Mine is like that as well.

I still think there was a screw up in the designing of that plate with the placement of the logo. Cost to much to fix so just let it go and act like its ok to have the logo on the back. Most guys dont care, but i do. Its my money and i want looks and function with a go fast show car.

If you haven't met Andy, the backward facing logo might tell you a little bit about him.

It makes perfect sense to me.

If you ever have a chance, check out a Joe Gibbs edition Tahoe or Avalanche some time. I think I counted 27 Joe Gibbs logos or something ridiculous like that on each vehicle.

I could be wrong, but this seems to be the opposite idea.

The motor plate wasn't designed as advertising, it is designed to put the engine in the correct spot.

The logo is on the back side since the machine work is done on the back side. I could leave the logo off if it causes so much confusion but I'd rather have it there so the plate can be identified. The logo isn't for advertising, it is so someone will know who made the part so they can buy a replacement.

A lot of guys don't like logo's visible on parts, when I was racing quite a bit, guys were always milling logos off their parts. I love my AR-Engineering motor plate in my Duster, made life much easier. I just wiped the ink off with some lacquer thinner.

At least it didn't have an 1/8 inch gouge out of it like the one I bought from a moparts advertisers holiday 10% off. And no I didn't send it back. I bought 3 of Andys plates so far and love them.

Mine didn't have any ink...but it was also a solid plate that Andy sells.
