I bought The AR Engineering motor plate with the cutouts from Hughes along with the mini denzo alt mount for the plate. Does this not work in a BB A body? The alt hits the K member, The crank trigger and the plate. I can cram it in there but I'd have zero adjustment with out cutting the lower web off the motorplate. ANy ideas?

I have the DMI bracket .
But I got the plate that didn't have the cut out so I cut it myself.

I have the low mount DMI bracket as well, but i'm yet to fit the alt so not sure about clearance issues there yet.

Post a picture of what you are trying to do. It would be tough to jam a crank trigger in there at the same time as the alternator. Especially in an A body car.

I don't show this alternator kit fitting with a crank trigger in any of the pictures on my website. http://arengineering.com/products/motorplate-kit-powermaster/

looking at the angle of mine and the angle in the photo it still wouldn't clear unless it is tighter to the block. That must be what is needed. So I guess Ill have to figure something else out..

Unless I were to cut that whole lower web out of the plate but that would be a lot of strength.

Can you put the pickup on the other side?

I'll do some more checking on that tomorrow though.. Maybe I can and rotate it up higher.

Could you move the mounting bracket any higher on the plate? and maybe just notch where the mounting bolt touches the motor plate instead of cutting the whole web off?

Dang. My next idea is to reposition the wheel and pickup so its pointing farther down. And they also make a smaller pickup.
If I can remember tomorrow I'll get a pic of the GM 1 wire and crank trigger on the Valiant. PM me on facebook and remind me and I'll send you the pic. To hard to do here .

I mounted the alt to the frame rail with a piece of angle alum. And use the adjuster side mounted to the motor plate

LittleM.. The alt is actually half way under the plate. If I am understanding you correctly.. Oh I think I gotcha. Higher to get the alt above the pickup so it can swing closer to the block? I'll try just moving the mount up to the upper bolt hole and see if it clears..

Ok will do. Frame rails are pretty busy with the new front mount turbo set up and mounting brackets.

Ill try some more moving around. Just wasn't sure if I had missed something or got the wrong mount. Thanks for all the ideas

Correct, the higher the mount, the farther away frome the k- frame the alternator will be

It only will work if I can swing it down. Where its sitting in the pic the alt is against the bottom of the plate. But if I can move it up while swinging it down I might clear the pick up and then just need to carve the plate some to gain adjustment. I think that's what you are getting at.

That alternator is too big to fit. Look at the alternator in my picture, it is much smaller.

I was going to suggest looking for a smaller alternator. We have a very tiny 100amp in the dragster cause frankly there is zero room in there. Makes looking at the timing pointer a bit a challenge for sure..
