okay i picked up another 833 at a swap meet i just wondering this ones has a flange on its out put shaft is this a really old one? and if i could convert it to a slip yoke i have anohther 833 for parts
Mopar offered the 1964 and 1965 NP833 with the ball and trunion u joint and then changed to the slip yoke on all NP833 in 1966 is what I remember
As far as using the early internal parts with the later model ones those trannys(NP833 29 spline input with 2.66 1st gears) had three different syncro assemblys, they will inter change between all the years, the 1971 and later type shift the best on the street when the clutches are adjusted properly
On your deal to use that early B or A body tranny in the later year cars you need to use all the parts from the rear roller bearing back from the later tranny on the early case including the out put shaft and tail shaft housing and speedometer gear assembly
Lots of fun
Buy a good set of snap ring tranny pliers and a good service manual and learn and have some fun and possibly some minor frustrations
