Is a 904 and 727 non lock up valve body the same?

Welcome here. I do not know but the tranny guys will. which trans do you have & are you missing the VB (or its damaged)?

I need to service the one in my ride it is a 727 I have a old valve body I think it was from a 904 I am installing a shift kit and thinking of using the spare valve body so it will be ready to go when it's time

The valve bodies are the same. There are two things that are different, one is the park pawl rod which you can easily switch and then there is one hold down bolt that should have a slotted hole so that it will work in either transmission.

The rear center hold down bolt hole is slotted in the aluminum casting but the steel separator plate has the hole located at one end of the slot for the 904 and the other end of the slot on the 727. This prevents them from being interchangeable without elongating the hole or installing an aftermarket separator plate with a slotted hole.
