If my memory serves me correctly, the fat side goes to the fender. The other way the gap is too big. Ive seen them both ways. My car had the fat side on the fender when I took it apart. It's been a long time but I'm pretty sure about that.
Ok disregard my first statement here. Not enough coffee I guess. The fat part goes under neath the cone. The skinny part is exposed. It puts the nose closer to the hood and fenders.

Body shop wants to know what is the correct way to install them, thick side out on fender, is that correct? "fat" side outboard towards the cone
