Hi, my throttle cable just broke, it corroded at the throttle linkage and. Car has stock pedal, Weiand tunnel ram. The linkage is the standard style to adapt to a throttle cable. Bracket on engine is one I made. Any recommendations on replacement? I think it was a stock cable originally. I have looked on Summit and the Lokar have a different end, not sure if it will work on stock pedal.

I believe I got mine from Rock Auto. Just a stock cable. I think, its been awhile, I got the one for a 6 cylinder, they are a tad longer.

cant help you on the other places.

Back when I ran a tunnel ram on my 68 roadrunner I used a stock 6 cylinder cable. $5 bucks from the junk yard then, probably a little harder to find now 48 years later.

it's ok to butt heads, just don't do it with a butthead

I pulled one out of a 80's Dodge truck about a month ago, from the wrecking yard. It had the correct firewall fitting for 69 RR. It's about 4 inches longer than stock. Works great. $1.

Thanks,

I will call around the couple of junk yards on island. Problem of course is the cable in the junkyard has been in the same warm salt air..... Mopars of this vintage are few and far between although there are a fair number of Dodge trucks

A search on Rock Auto for throttle cable for anything brings up zero results.

Best, Dave

Thanks again everyone. I appreciate the feedback on the options plus the direction in Rock Auto. I could have sworn I looked in the Dodge section also. Now just have to pull the old cable, measure and make a decision which to use to get her back on the road.

Did you have to run a rope through the window to get home? laugh
I had to do that once on my '76 Ramcharger. The angle was so bad that you nearly had to cut yourself to get the throttle to move. wrench Keep on spinning those mud boggers my friend! smoke

I had no tools and it was not starting well on top of everything else. Plus we are leaving for a couple of weeks this Saturday so time running short to get things accomplished. Wimped out and called our tow truck friends. Conveniently the owner's niece is a part time instructor for my wife at the university so we got a discount. I wanted Wellington to see our solar system as he had some questions so it all worked out. I had thought of the rope idea but no materials.... Not very Boy Scout be prepared of me blush

If you're using a bell crank at the manifold to pull the T ram linkage you can sometimes get rid of the crank using a cable. Put a spherical rod end, just like the ones that hold the cross bar in on the Tram supports, and then hook your cable to one carb directly.
