I'm going to be replacing the trunk floor in my 66 coronet with some flat sheet metal to get rid of where the spare tire goes. I'm looking for some pictures and advice from somebody that has done the same

I did that, sorry no pics. What I did was cut the well about 1/2 way down just so that you couldn't see it from behind...just above the bottom of the bumper. then made a sheet that just covered the hole form underneath and welded it from the outside so the inside looks nice . The reason I didn't cut the whole thing out is its nice to have the fuel cell sunk in...but without the ugly stuff hanging out the bottom.
