Did not have anything else to do on a Sunday (21 May), so woke up early, loaded up the car and took it to a No Prep Race. I did not go "full retard", took the day more as a T/T session.. The day could have gone better, first I did not succeed in getting a helping hand to join me and second the carb had a lean tip-in issue that I could not fix at the track so had to leave off idle and not against the converter... Any way.. best ET 10.54@208km/h with a 1.54 60ft... not that bad....

Some pics...

Yes very nice car, it amazed me the number of older american muscle cars and classics that are in Sweden, I worked for a company that is located in Finspang back in 2015 for a few months and they seemed to be everywhere.

Thanks!!!

It´s not bad for a heavy car running on small tires, then again there is room for improvement. This season is dedicated to getting the car to 60ft. I just wish we had the same opportunity to race as much as you guys over there in the US, sadly the season is so short over here in motorsports hating bumhole Sweden..

The powerplant has Indy Little Easy CNC 295 heads, 11.0:1 comp. a rollercam, 493cids.. Nothing really exotic but still made 770Hp and 679lb-ft TQ. The block is living on borrowed time though, gonna go aluminium block as soon as I have to cash to buy one. I just keep my fingers crossed and hope the old iron block won´t implode before that day comes...

A Cope built 727 in the middle and a Dr. Diff Dana 60 covering the rear end.

AFCO DA shocks front/rear + Caltracs. Race weight 3902lbs...

Thanks!

Sweden is still the No. 1 country in Europe importing old American cars, so yes, you will see them everywhere during the summer months...

Real nice to see your car again and impressive to see it being so quick despite its size!

Thanks for the nice words about my ride!

Went racing again in early June, this is a race series I run in, the class is called Real Street and has a BOT of 10.10sec.

Here is a video of one of my T/T runs, got out run bad in the elimination round... Had a couple of issues with the car and did not have any success in getting it running right, so more or less a totally wasted race weekend.. Looking back I should just have stayed home in the garage and worked on getting the car running right, but went racing and hoped on a Hail Mary that the car would run... but it did not down

Been working on the car and I hope I have sorted out and fixed the issues it was having...

Imho there is no such thing as wasting time when you are actualy doing something, you might not have got it right at that point but atleast you most certianly learnt a few things about what did not work up

No Prep is active driving, its kinda like driving a rally stage. On a prepped track my car runs as if on rails, first through second gear is fun, go into third and its just transportation.. Which I kinda think suggest my ride is really not that fast wink
