Got my wideband working again and Worked on the light/part throttle tune a little bit today, she was pig rich at first and although at one point I overshot my assumed target I backed off quite a bit and ended up in a decent place with it. Getting used to it again etc. Probably the most ridiculous thing, you'll enjoy this: I forgot how to get in and out of the car Impressions....I had no idea how driveable little drag torsion bars are, with strong enough shock damping. This is my first time using adjustable shocks and it is an eye opener. Yes you have to slow down for turns, but it's no big deal for this kind of car. I think when it comes to the rear suspension I'm going to have to forget what I thought I learned and start over. Its got the universally-hated super stock springs and way back when I clamped the hell out of them to control rise somewhat.....well, now that I have better shocks I'm thinking now I can control them with the shock (the right way) instead. I'm thinking I'll go do 60 footers and 8th mile at the "L", then if it'll hook up there I'll go somewhere better. 1/4 mile at the big "L" is like death with their bumpy shutdown area, don't think I want to do that. Thinking I may lower the car at some point...seems overall height of it is somewhat preventing it from working as well as it should. Trying to keep the oil pan off the ground kind of hosed me for front end travel. I think the rear can go down an inch or two without any problems. This silly car is a street/strip adventure. Today all street....big improvement there...nothing to show for it really just running a whole bunch cleaner....see ya

That is so awesome. I know if I saw your Gtx on the road,it would make my day. Our engines are very similar from what I remember. Keep at it and you got you 10 sec pass. Love to see more pics of gtx

Really do appreciate and enjoy the fellowship, thanks for the kind responses:) Most of my pics are old low-res from the 90s but I will try.
I had it looking it's best in the '90s but was forced into enough outdoor storage back then, and the materials I used were cheap enough (all lacquer based) that it deteriorated quite a bit. Ran 12s for most of the '90s. I started off with a budget restrained version of the Direct Connection 13.5 combination and ended up at 12.50s around 106 or 107.
that was it for a long time, then as the car got faster, it started to look worse pretty quick. Much later I upgraded to cameras with better resolution, to better show off the rust lol. Early 2000s I did a motor which led to roll bar, axle, converter, and so on.
Nowadays, it looks like a barn find or refugee from Mad Max. Intent for a long time has been to get the "10" with this combination, and then do all the cosmetics again the right way with new sheetmetal and so on. Parts collected towards that, etc.
I've got ideas for two other engines I'd like to try, and collected alot of parts during my time as an MP contractor towards those possibilities..

Cosmetically I did the whole thing best as I could while lacking monetary funds/tools/experience/help, and now it all needs to be done again. Most shots here are from the 12-second era with no rollbar, hyd cam 440, etc.

then after I did the motor quite a few things had to change. A little while after this + rollbar and axle changes, the paint started falling off pretty bad, seams starting coming apart on the seats and so on. That's it's current state-a 50 footer, but a runner.

Glad you have it out and enjoying it. Cars are always a work in progress. Hopefully my 440 Demon will get back out on the street again.

Thanks all....enthusiasm just kind of came back...trying to make a little progress and get used to it again. The car has taught me an awful lot, and it's been pretty tolerant of mistakes over time. I've been through alot with it.
Milan...is guaranteed 3+ hours round trip on the road, and...I'm not complaining...but I haven't had the best experiences there....it really has not always been worth it every time in the past. I can't tell you how frustrating it is to sit there and idle for 5 minutes and have them not give me any water to do a burnout in, for instance. Often a waste of time to show up. Really no sense in racing if you can't even do a proper burnout... might as well go home. I might try them later, but I'll have to bring helpers to do track worker's jobs in case nobody feels like it. Maybe it's because it is an obvious street car, I don't know.
I live within 45 minutes of Lapeer but their shutdown area is kind of dangerous in my opinion....but its fine for 8th mile testing and messing with suspension. It seems a better place to work on short times, I can do a proper burnout there every time, etc.

I've always liked that car. It's really cool that you've had it so long, and that you are getting back to it now!
