I want to convert my '71 Satellite from manual to power brakes.

I know the firewall reinforcement plate is different, and I know there's a bellcrank on the pedal linkage inside the car because the power brakes pushrod is higher up the firewall than the manual pushrod was.

My question: can the bellcrank be added to my existing brake pedal support structure, or does that need to be changed out from a power brake car?

Thanks.

JimmyG the JB weldmaster. Do you still have my modded metering rod caps up on your wall of shame? I think you need the whole PB assy (rods/bellcrank/plate/everything), not sure about the pedal, its mounting hole height for the right ratio may be different.

Robert, I honestly don't remember those metering rods. I'm not denying that I have them, but I'm racking my brain as to why I'd have wanted them in the first place because I haven't messed with rod-and-jet carburetors for myself in years (except for a brief, misguided foray into Edelbrock 800 country about 15 years ago). Could that have been what it was about? I do have boxes of carb parts (mostly Holley and stuff from my girlfriend's 6-cylinder Falcon) but I'll be happy to look and try again to remember. Give me a description of what I'm looking for. Is it possible you're confusing me with some unfortunate person who reminds you of me? laugh

BOT, spank

I believe the answer to your question is YES, the pedal support is the same between manual and power. beer
