3.91............just don't ask, "How long it will last?"
Are you saying, it will go boom and then I’ll be picking up pieces and parts, I'll need at least 6 then

With the small tire and low rpm motor you'll be lookin for 4th gear with the 4.56. I spin 7000 with the same size tire and 120 + mph.
now after looking back at the 1st post. i thought it said 6300 rpms, so yes 4.10's are the right choice with a 5300 rpm motor. with your rpms and a 4.56 gear you'll be hunting for another gear.

Great 4.10 sounds good.
Low 9’s WOW, I’m in a different league. Maybe I’m wrong but I’m crossing my fingers for high 11’s

FWIW I went from 410's to 373's in my dana, and saw no et change. also with a 28" tire.
Your engine is big and torquey, so I think less than 410's is your best bet.
As for strength, you are very clearly at the limit of 8 3/4 durability.
I felt I was there with my 8.75. Then I saw my buddies SB 388 make a 727 turn into pieces the size of pocket change, I decided it was time to upgrade some of my stuff.
So I bought all the good internals for my 727, and switched to the dana.
You can't put a price on body parts(human ones anyway ).

I agree with the 3.91's or 4.10's with your 505 and 28" tall tires. As you know I use 4.30's but I have 29" tall tires and they work good with my 440. But you will have gobs of torque and will run good with 3.91's or 4.10's at the most to take advantage of the power band in your stroker. What a nice car you have. Ron
Ron, are ya going to the Mopar National this year? It would be cool having some fun on the track together

IMO 4.56 gears is a bunch of rpm with the 28's. No need to spin that motor like that. I would look hard at 4.10 gears, 4.30 max.

I would love to go as I have not been there since 2001. But its a long haul for me and cash is tight right now so I dont think I can make it this year. I agree it would be so cool to have our cars lined up together. Ron
Will be the 1st time for me. About 7 hour drive, to save $ we have 4 guys in 1 pick up truck and all sharing a motel. can you say to much

Boy that car brings back some memories. I had a 64 polara 500 426 st wedge, had the console shift, I lerned to shift that with 1 finger so as not to shift up two gears. I sold that about 8-9 years ago. Just came acrost a photo of it at the track. I think the best it ever ran was a 13.03, but it was a lot of fun from a stop light with 4.11s in it it would smoke them thrugh first and part of second with street tires on it. Mine was anv. gold with gold interiour. You got a nice looking and am sure running ride there have fun with it, Bud
Love to old stories
I hit the rev limiter in 1st and 2nd frying my street tires with 3.55 gears. love the torque
