I was wondering if any of the block numbers aficiondas here have ever seen a block with a stamp missing a digit as is on this 71 440-6 block.
Also, May 70 block
Common occurrence ? ..or seldom seen

It is fairly common. One possible reason is the roller dial had a broken / chipped number.

It has to have been a 1 or a 2 though.

It would be a cool one to add at http://www.hamtramck-historical.com/factoryErrors.shtml

If that is OK with you, could you try to get a straight on photo at a higher resolution & email it to me please Terry?

Lynch Rd. made it to just over 1A200000 for 1971 - so the missing digit is "1"

what's on the top pad? scope

A friend has it Barry so next time there, I'll try to get a better photo...feel free to add it.
Here's the top pad Dan and some of what's left of the 71 Charger R/T it came from.

I take from the hood that the Charger was a total loss.
