can you post a picture of the actual page/comment? I believe it is the other way around ..... the B & E body cars with 11" brakes STANDARD had 14x6.0" wheels STANDARD ordering F70-14 tires on a /6 or 318 car required "rallye suspension" which also would get you the 14x6.0" wheels disc brakes also may have required the 14x6.0" wheels but all of the above could've been ordered with "Rallye" or "Road" wheels which were 14x5.5"

What they are saying is if you want to have 6" or 7" wheels then you need to buy better brakes or we won't sell those big wheels to you. Bigger wheels and tires haul more weight and they want the brakes upgraded. What you say also makes sense, but how would you go about ordering the 6" wheel? Also if you ordered any of the four following 1971 B - body tires (G78 x 14, H78 x 14, F70 x 14, or G70 x 14) which comes with 6" rims, it does not tell you anywhere that I could find, that you are required to purchase H.D. brakes (aka 11"), or disc brakes.

What if it's the other way around? If you want the good brakes, you must buy these wheels & they're not available without the brakes? There might be some brake clearance issues with smaller wheels.

You don't order a car from the service manual. If a certain wheel tire, or brake combo was wanted then when the dealer would speck it out that way. But , I guess if you had such car, and wanted to install something different, the service manual was telling what was required.
