K truck is a 81 d150 354 gears, headers com cam, Eddy 4brl intake, nothing to extreme. Carn is a Holley 600. Problem is if u stab the gas at a stop it pops an dies or if I let off as soon as it pops it's fine. I swapped the 65 Jets out an swapped to 61s as that's what I was told to do. I'm still running the #31 squirter an am thinking of swapping to a #28.. truck fire up an idles great! I have been told the 31 is just a bit much..timing is dead on so only thing it could be is carb related. Any help would be much appreciated

I had the same problem with my Dart. 50cc accel. pump was the cure.

since leaner jets didn't help, go up to 70 jets, readjust idle mix after it warms up, then see how it drives.

Is this a new problem or has the motor always done this? Did it ever "work fine" before?

You might want to take a look down the throat of the carb and see if your squirter is working. Maybe wire shut the secondaries with a bread tie and see if the "pop" goes away?

Timing is "dead on"...

So what is the timing profile, initial, total and all in point?

Seen this too many times and it's not what most people think is the issue.

Sprayer works great. I was deff running rich as the carb was black an an plugs were black an smelled like fuel real bad. Old timer told me to swap to 61s an bump the squirter size down to a 28. Motor is a 318, headers, comp cam, flat tops nothing super aggressive
