This will be going on my 92 D250 with a Dana 70. I got the brackets from Great Lake Off Road, the calipers, rotors and pads are all for the front of a 86 Chevy K20 which is a 3/4 ton 4X4.
I'm still waiting on the brake hose mounting tabs. I have a kit coming from Summit by Classic Performance that uses a band clamp to hold the tab. That will just be temporary until I can get the tabs welded on the housing.

The truck has RWAL already so I probably won't need to change anything there. We'll see how it works. It does lose the parking brake though. I really never use it anyway but I may do something else for that, haven't decided yet.

there is a cadillac rear caliper that bolts in the same place----it is a big time junkyard or swap meet score---they are now being made again... It was a two or three year only Eldorado caliper. You can find remans but not with the levers. It's the levers that are hard to find. If you know a source please post it up. I've been searching for quite awhile now and can't really find anything that is under a few hundred dollars each.

Don't take this wrong....BUT are the stock drum brakes that bad? I thought the truck manufacturers went to rear discs to save money, not for better performance. Big rigs still use drum brakes on the trailers so they aren't really obsolete. What was the intended gain? Disc brakes have better stopping power, don't fade like drum brakes, work when wet and are easier to service. You can't compare semi trucks to passenger cars or light trucks, totally different. Since the trucks rear brakes need complete rebuilding along with new drums the cost and work involved to convert is nearly the same. So converting is a no brainer at this point. I have been continually updating this truck to more modern systems including a third brake lamp, lock up torque converter, modern style wiper arms and blades, lighting, A/C system and more. The brakes are just a continuation of the effort. A hydraboost system in place of the vacuum booster will be next on my list.

Okay... I just think that for many situations, the drums are adequate. My 1984 Chevy 1/2 ton had a disc/drum setup and braked as well as my 2002 and 2007 Ram 1500 with 4 wheel discs. Good luck with the build. And both those Dodge / Ram trucks weighed significantly more than that old Chevy
