It has a spectra in it, at least 2 years old... did they start making their own since then? I'm not sure. I spoke with one of their people regarding an unrelated issue and the subject came up. He stated they had invested a lot of time in developing the sending unit line and would welcome contact regarding any issues. We've installed several since then in different customers cars without issue. thats good to know,i bought two spectra units several years ago that would not work.ohms were way off but at least they plugged the hole, and i couldnt use thier retainer had to use OEM.

What is dying on the current repop senders? I would assume the resistor but that is just an assumption......?

i talked to Dixie ,they said no,but that was some time ago.Have you talked to them recently? In 2014 Dixie Restoration Parts attempted but failed to get a group buy through the OEM manufacturer to Chrysler. It was listed on the Moparts New Stuff page. At first it looked promising but then the manufacturer failed to reply to the request over several months so Dixie gave up and refunded the group their money in December of that year.
I’m listening.

This is correct. Use the pencil/mileage method if it doesn't work.

Hey Guys, Here's the deal on the units we had manufactured: I have these available for immediate purchase: 3/8" 67-76 A-body - ran as an upgrade ($110) 3/8" 62-65 B-body ($110) 3/8" 66-67 B-body ($110) 3/8" 71-74 B-body ($110) 5/16" 62-65 B-body ($110) We have a few NOS ones in 5/16", email us with your needs. We have a reproduction 3/8" for 68-70 B-body and 70-74 E-body that we've been selling that has had good reviews from our customer's, although not perfect. One thing to remember on sending unit's is that your cars wiring harness, gauge, and ground all impact the accuracy. I put an NOS sending unit in my son's Demon about 2 years ago and it did not correct the accuracy problem. I'm sure it's in the 40+ year old wiring or gauge. Like someone suggested above, he just calculates mileage and keeps enough gas in it to get where he's going and back. So far he hasn't run out of gas. If we can help, please let us know. Randy
