I have a question I hope someone can answer. On my build sheet on my 69 GTX where it says wheel it shows a 16 Y2 and under WH/COV it shows 88 then for tires it shows T85.I hope someone can tell me the tire/rim/wheel covers that are correct?I think it calls for painted rims so I'm geussing that it gets the dog dish caps but not sure.
Thanks in advance
Joe

T85 means F70x14 (RSW) Red Side Walls Fiberglas.

The W codes in Gailen's code book only go up to W6S so don't know what 88 means.

The build sheet for my 69 GTX has 16-5 under Wheel and I know it came with steelies and dog dish hubcaps. Sorry but don't know what 16 Y2 means. Can't find it in Gailen's book.

16 would be the code for what wheel used, 440 cars got a 14x5.5 or 14x6 wheel, I can't remember exactly, Y2 is what color the wheels were painted (your car should be Y2) and 88 is the code for plymouth dog dish hub caps.

T85 is as stated by the previous posters

EDIT: 69 440 cars came with 14x5.5 steelies, courtesy of 69coronetRT

Red side walls are the same as redlines. F70x14 is a tire size. You could have E70, G70, H70 etc. The letter was the width and the 70 was the profile. F60 were wider (fatter) than F70. E70 were narrower than F70. 14 is the wheel size in inches. I think my original 69 GTX back in 69 came with Firestones but I'm not sure.

If you don't have any documentation of the original tires, either Goodyear or Firestone would be acceptable for F70 x 14's. Chrysler had contracts with both companies. My 69 383 RR which I bought new Sept 8, 1969 had Firestones with the red side walls (redlines). My fraternity brother's had Goodyears. I always thought that Goodyear was more common on the Plymouths than the Firestones. In my opinion, the Goodyears look better.

It has pretty much been covered: 1969 GTX
14 x 5.5" steel wheels painted Y2 - "sunfire yellow"
with stainless steel "PLYMOUTH DIVISION" - "dog dish" hub caps #2944 088
tires would've been F70-14 Goodyear Polyglas RSW "redlines"
