I need to find an outdoor car cover for the Imperial. It's 19'8" long.

Any suggestions that won't break the bank?

Both of my cheaper no name brand of covers that seem to be good at first have turned to dust within 3-4 years after being used indoors!! They started leaving a ton of dust on the cars, better off without them really. Then they start to fall apart/rip all the while leave dust/cover material all over your car.

So unless you only need one for that long then I think California Car Cover has the best value.I have 2 different CC covers now and they are both real nice and are holding up well.

Funny, I was just looking at covers. Amazon lists some large covers?

Amazon large car cover linly

CCC doesn't list the Imp, or the 300 but they have this for a Newport (should be identical to the 300)

I can tell you for off the shelf covers the large one won't fit. I have the largest you can get on one of my cars which is just under 19' long and it just barely fits.

Probably have to get something for an suv .Problem with that is, it'll be long enough, but being for an suv, the sides will be to long and be on the ground. Before i got a garage, my wagon sat outside, and i had to get a cover for an suv, due to the cars size, and i also need a lose fit, because the FINS WOULD CUT THROUGH THE CAR COVER. eek the sides were on the ground and i didn't think to try to tie them up, or otherwise prevent them from being on the ground.
then it rained, and the sides got soaked, and got all the dirt and crap imbedded in the cover.

I would call whoever and ask if they could make one for your car? see what they say.

My wife got her like new 07 mustang that she just got last fall, out of storage yesterday. Car has 17500 miles on it and has been inside all it's life.

I gave her a CC cover made just for her drop top GT for Xmas. It fits like a glove and it's the right material to get along with the convertible top. 100% water proof and fit's great. Really no way to blow off in a storm I am thinking because of the wonderful elastic around the bottom front and back.

For now it has to stay outside and we have some large trees overhead. So the cover is going to absorb lots of tree sap and keep as much as possible off the convertible top. Soon I have to free up a spot for her in our 2 car garage that has a remote opener. She would love that, pull up and into the garage! She has been on my azz about it more and more. Don't blame her really! lol.

The car has to sit in my driveway because it's too long for the garage.

My immediate need is due to the city taking interest in my car. The engine is out and I got a notice on it despite living in a crap neighborhood. A house flipper invested in the property a couple hundred feet away and I imagine they're pushing to "beautify" the neighborhood so they can make a quick buck.

I can ballast the engine compartment, drop the hood back on, and put a cover over it to make the city go away.

They can't touch a car cover to check on inspection or registration. Both are expired and I can't get tags until it gets inspected. No engine means no inspection.

When I lived in Mesquite, I helped out a friend by letting him keep his car in my driveway for a couple of months. He covered it up with a new car cover and even tarped it on top of that.
Code Enforcement left a tag for me to call. She (CE officer) was pissed that she could not pull up the covers (bungeed very well) to check the registration stickers to see if they were current. I told her that it was covered with a car cover on private property that she didn't need to be trespassing on. At that point she went livid on the phone and informed me that car covers were illegal in Mesquite. I then asked her why do all of the auto parts houses in Mesquite sell them, and hung up the phone.

But yes, real estate agencies are in tight with the city and when a property comes up for sale, code enforcement is out in force that day. That's why I live in the country now. No CE here.

Since that's the case, find out who does advertising on billboards in your area and get an old billboard tarp. It'll probably be free, they're tough as nails, and will be ugly as sin. Of course, you'll have to secure it to your car. See how the flipper and city inspector like that!

Oh yea I know what you mean.
What about jacking up the back a little to level the car out?

There's a fellow in my neighborhood with a double wide driveway about 3 cars long in front of his house. He has had 2 long 60s GM cars parked in front of one another under 2 grey fitted car covers for I bet 20 years now. I have seen new covers go on every so often. I imagine that is how he can store 2 classic cars in his front yard in his driveway?

Started raining some.

It's new, wonder how long this will last? Looks water proof so far.
Beads of water on top.

I am storing a '67 Fury VIP 4 door hardtop for a club member in my back yard behind my wife's garage. We bought a cover that completely fits the car for $159.95 delivered. It seems waterproof, the underside is flannel to prevent rubbing the paint and it has a 10 year guarantee (for whatever that is worth). We put dryer sheets inside the car to keep mice away and it seems to work. When the owner gets off the ship that she is working, she will be able to drive and show it this summer. It is not a Beverly Hills or California cover, I just wish I could remember where we bought it (online) shruggy

I have one from California Car Cover. Fits my 65 300 pretty good. I need to send it in for repairs. Tore through on the fender signal trim and the mirrors. Had some high minds a week ago that beat it up. No effects from the sun so far. Held up through last summers 119 degree weeks

Nice cover but...
When stored outside and it gets windy U will find that the clear coat on the car corners will buff/wear down...
Today's clear coats are only a few microns thick and it doesn't take much much friction to wear it down to the base coat..

Just my $0.02... wink
