67 Coronet and I need to increase the tension on my trunk lid as it wont stay up..

I am guessing I need to get in the trunk and shut it ( less tension) and pry the tensioner bars out and over another slot..

Do I need to shut the trunk?? Is a pry bar correct to use or something else?

Any help appreciated..

A pry bar would scratch the paint. I normally take an old rubber V-belt and loop it around the tensioner and pull to where I want it set. I do this from outside the trunk. Hold on to the belt and use your body weight for leverage.
