first i will break down the motor. its a 70 440 hp block 11.0-1 compression 906 heads with a 3 angle valve job and a 550 240 hyd. flat tappet

car has 4.30 gears wiend team g manifold hooker super comp fenderwell headers and 3" exhaust. 28x13.5 et streets 175 shot n20.msd digital 6 plus msd pro billet.

i need suggestions and estimated gains for an alluminum head and solid roller cam.

when this motor goes i am planning a 530 stroker but i just want to maximize the combo for now. dont want to buy heads twice though. cam no big deal but dont want to shell out the head money twice.

nitrous is like a really hot chick with an std you want to hit it but youre affraid of the outcome.

When I switched from ported 906`s and a solid cam to home ported rpm`s and an isky solid roller, I went from high 10.40`s to low 10`s(soon to be nines).

aluminum heads? there's only about 20 different choices there so what you need to do is decide how fast you can afford to go. generally speaking the eddy rpm head cleaned up is about the best bang for the buck but they are limited and you're talking about upping the displacement a good bit which can use a higher end head. b1, indy's, victors ect. but then you're into a good bit of cash for the required parts and machining. figure out your budget, goals and what you have to work with to begin with. building a car is a whole package from the fuel cell (tank) to the exhaust and everything else in the driveline/suspension. neglect any one of these things and you won't have the optimum performance.

car has fuel cell -10 line to the front ladder bar and coilover suspension 2x2 boxed sub connectors triangulated to the ladder bar brackets i can fit 15" of tire under the car. hooker super comp 2 1/8-3.5 collector with 3" exhaust dumpped before the rear tires.

its not that money is not an issue. i will spend good money, but on the heads i only want to spend it once.

shoot in one day i dropped 7k with mazzolini racing. indy top end for small block and other misc items. so the money part doesnt scare me. just wasting money. even if the 440 suffers a little because the heads are too big its ok as long as they are better than the stock 906s im running now.

i just dont want to spend money twice. if b1 origonals are the best choice for the 530 and they will "WORK" on the 440 then i have no problem spending 5k on a top end.

If you already have a good set of roller rockers and a good set of headers that you are wanting to keep, then you can narrow kown your search. A set of Indy EZ heads will bolt right on, and accept your rockers and headers. You could run them standard port for now, and then have them ported to MW Size when you build the 530 CI. These heads will support 800 HP, which is about the limit for a stock block.

If you are willing to buy new rockers and headers, then I would say go with a set of Indy 440-1's, or the Edelbrock Victors.

It is great that we Mopar guys finally have a bunch of different heads to choose from. You just need to figure out where you want to go in the future, so you only have to buy the right set of heads once.

All of my opinions are based off wanting to stay with a stock block. If you are going to go aftermarket in the future, then there are other heads to look at.
