I know that some restorers try to keep or restore the graining, and others just make it smooth. I have one that is beautiful. Perfect color match, but is smooth. Not sure if anyone out there has all 3: Color, Grain, Gloss
I see Jerome Verbit is back in the mix. I saw his product at Carlisle last year. Looked great. I think $400?? Do you have Jeromes number?

I had a wheel done by Jerome a few years ago. Very nice subtle woodgrain and great color. Not using it due to scoring a nice unrestored original, but wouldnt hesitate to use it in a second.

I've had a few wood grain A, B & E body wheels done by Mark Tarkington, Steeringwheelsbymike.com and everyone was perfect, imo. Also bought one wheel from Plumbeeper & it was really nice, too. I sent my wheel out to Mike last week. Thanks guys!

On this topic of woodgrain B-body steering wheels from 68-70.. It has been pointed out to me that the '70 version was slightly lighter in brown than the '68-69... Correct?

T Yes, the 70 wheel is more "tan" in color, the 68-9 are "reddish"

I picked up on a 70 steering wheel a few years back for my car. It's un-restored and the wood looks like the darker 68-9 to me. I thought maybe it was a late 69 or early 70 piece. Could be an early/late, or vendor(s)change?, or just "mistakes" or substitutions made by the vendors?, who knows?...I do know that when I was looking for a woodgrain wheel for my 70 Charger, I bought a 69 wheel, had the dark grain, but did have the 3 drilled holes for the 70 column adapter, and had the smaller 68-9 horn adapter, I restored my wheel using the 70 repro adapter/horn, plus the woodgrain needed a redo...only criteria I had was a wheel with no cracks The aftermarket repro wheels for the 70 while nice are too dark, and the spokes too polished looking, but they can be modded to emulate any year desired if the OP or others want to go this route? Mike
