I'm putting a 440 big block in a 2003 dodge dakota, What kind of headers will work and who else have done this. I need 2" headers. Schumacher headers won't work. I heard A-body finder headers will work but don't know for sure. any help would be greatly appreciated

Maybe try a street rod forum since Dakotas are used for frame swaps?

I can't help you on header options but best of luck with the swap and good to see another guy doing it. My swap wasn't in a late model truck, but I put a BB 413 in a 87 Dakota, and for headers (mine are only Ø1.75" primary's) I just hand fabbed them. Get yourself a header kit from summit or whereever and happy building!

I put a 383 in a 98 Dakota. I would never do it again.

To answer your question, no headers will work. You need to custom fab your own or hack up the truck

I hope you don't mind if I buy an argument. This first gen Dak chassis is for sale on Craigslist. I contacted the gent to get info on it (even though I didn't want to buy it). He kindly responded by sending me pics of his big block setup.

If you contact him, he'll give you info and some help. He has Ebay shorty headers on his 440 Dakota.

My 2 cents on that above Dakota chassis; Look close, you will have to redo the crossmember the 4 link is mounted to if you want to add a driveshaft, the guy ran a full steel tube across the truck and tied the 4 ling to it. If he made that kind of error, what else is in question? The price seems a little steep for what your buying. Gene
