If you decide to mill the 2316Fs, consider leaving the quench side as is and mill the non-quench side down. As stated, the top is around 1/2" thick so a lot can be milled off. That would also lighten the heavy slugs as well.

i have a scrap pile
me also but i seriously think this block is finnished for real have hade a good look at all the bores and thats not the only one that seems to have started splitting this particular block have been a raceengine since sometime in the early 80īs from what i understood from the previus owner so i think its time for it to go to rest, its been beaten on with heavy trw pistons for a long time but i have found another block and crank for sale for a fair price so now im just waiting for someone to either buy my dailydriver or for payday so i can go buy it:) unless i fall over a cheap bigblock or newstyle hemi

i would do it if you already have the pistons. The top on those chunks are 1/2"!!! If you dont have em use the 72 and later pistons.
so now i have found myself a "new"block and crank and also some 2316F pistons all for a somewhat good price
will i get away with milling those pistons 0.100" or even alitle more or is that just to much? looking at them the valve pockets are way deeper that that and that would still leave 0.250" from top of piston to the top ring this is for a litle pumpgasmotor runing a lysholm twinscrew blower
thanks

Don't you have E85 in Sweden? If you have high compression, it would probably be ideal with E85 and a supercharger. Just something to think about (eventhough making pistons lighter is a good plan).

"Hey mister, something's wrong with your car, it idles roughly" - number one comment I got in Israel when daily driving a 70 Barracuda with a lopey cam.
Currently working on - 1966 Dodge A100 van 318/auto Finally - disc brakes on the front. In the plans - rear disc brakes, B&M 250 blower

around here in stockholm its not a problem but i noticed that it was sold out alot when i have been out of town last summer so im not realy sure i want to take that step just yet but it has been on my mind a few times yeah geting alitle weight out of those heavy chunks feels like a very good plan
