Recently removed the factory Lean Burn Thermoquad off my 78 Cordoba. Replaced it with an Eddy 600.

Will this Eddy carb be adequate for the stock configured 400 Big Block?

Sure you may need to play w the mixture though to get optimum drivability and mileage.

Because I replaced the Lean Burn Ignition with a standard Mopar Electronic ignition system and now the new Dizzy has a Vacuum Advance(The old Lean Burn Dizzy didnt) but the Carb had no place to hook the vacuum advance up to. Was told I could modify the baseplate, but that would require drilling and installing the vacuum port. Much easier to just put the carb on the engine and be done.

Ah yes, I remember when I did the Lean Burn Thermoquad toss! I changed the intake also, but I was just a wee little lad who had been seduced and under Mothers spell! I am much better now-mostly.

600 sounds like a great size for a B-Body cruiser

I have 2 intakes laying around to choose from to install, but if I can get away with just a Carb adapter and carb, well its that much less work involved.

That may be the case, but the Thermoquad would run better and would be better for the 400. It is very easy to add a ported vacuum source for the advance can. The AFB cant hold a candle to a properly tuned TQ

I think any intake will work, just use that little thin edelbrock adapter (EDL-2732 6.95 from summit racing) to mate the AFB to where the spread bore thermoquad once sat.

I am not sure how saavy you are with tuning but the AFB style carb is SIMPLE, and since this isn't a hot rod, point and shoot is easy for a street car.

I would think if the Thermoquads were so awesome Carter or someone would still be producing and selling them-but what do I know?
