I know some folks had asked what the T/A replica hood I had modified back in December to raise the scoop looked like on the car. My oldest son & I set it over the empty engine compartment simply to get a sense for just that.

Dayum, it's BIG. I'd asked for the scoop to be raised 1.5", but the final product is even a bit taller than that and measures almost 5" from the hood surface now.

Whoa... eek

And I thought a Drag Pak Challenger scoop was big 'n' lumpy.

Guess I should have enough clearance for an air cleaner now. tonguue

It looks a good bit like the VFN 5" T/A-type scoop that 340Rick and some other people on here have.

hope its secured well, when i made my 6 pak taller all it wanted to do was rip itself off the hood. it seriously gave the mounting points on the hood a hard work out.

At least it resembles the factory one. It doesn't look like it's blocking your view too much from the pic you posted. IMO those cowl hoods just look way out of place on a Mopar. FUGLY!

Not this sh%# again........What exactly would you call the look of that hood on a 70RR?

I love my air grabber. Lol. Hood looks good and racy. Very cool.

That's true huh? I guess the ones that I've seen with the air grabber kind of disguises them. I guess I should have said a Chevrolet type cowl hood on a Mopar.

Not sure what makes a Ford vs Chevy vs Mopar cowl. I just call a scoop that starts at hood level in the front and gets larger as it goes back a cowl. If it's the center peak that alarms you, there are companies that make it without that.

Don't recall many 70s Challengers coming with aero prostock scoops either. Guess some could say that seems way out of place on a Mopar.

To me personally, I think about ANY factory Mopar scoop looks like an afterthought. "Oh crap, we need a scoop. Lets put this shoebox looking thing in the middle of the hood". Few could really say that the 68 hemi scoops, nor six pack scoops are really aesthetically appealing, nor do anything for the lines of the car.....but it's factory and that makes it seem "right". Scoops, like wheels or paint are a personal choice and have to please no one but the owner
