Passenger door

Door opens fine from the inside.
Outside door handle seems to have too much throw.
It opens the door at the very end of the travel.
I tried to bend the rod connecting the handle to the latch to extend the length of the rod but still opens the door at the end of the travel of the exterior door handle.

Is there an adjustment that I can make so the door will open as soon as the outside door handle is raised up?

RS23U1G Thanks for the lead. Went back out there and adjusted it every which way but I think I have something wrong in the latch assembly. It will almost release but not quite even if I disconnect the outer door handle rod and push the rod till it bottoms out on the latch assembly. Still wont open the door from outside rod but inside handle works fine.

Aftermarket outer door handle ?? Check the rod hole spacing{from the pivot point} against an original...I've had issues with some repop handles having too much travel {rod hole too far from the fulcrum}creating too long of a throw to open the door... twocents

Thank you guys for the feedback. No the original door handle is installed. I removed the latch assembly, cleaned it up and a rubber cushion was worn out and not throwing the lever on the latch mechanism far enough to release the latch.
I forced a home made bushing onto the lever and it works like it should.
Kinda tough working inside the door like that hooking up the 4 rods but its done.
That latch assembly is a complicated engineering feat.
Thanks again.

I'm dealing with a similar situation on my Ramcharger. I have to go back in there & what I am going to do now is open up the other side & compare/see what is different. that plan might work for you. As you know some of those plastic rod locking clips etc are delicate & you dont wanna break one.
