I am going thru some of my late fathers crates in the garage and trying to id what things are. I found 2 carter carbs with id 2999 1406 and 1C39637S. I tried google and came up empty handed for info. Anyone know a site to search or know what these are?

1406 is an Edelbrock 600 cfm carb, the 9637 is a Carter Competition Series 625 cfm (both are basically the same carb, the Edelbrock being the later version) the other numbers are assembly date codes. Good all around carbs for a stock or mildly warmed over V8. Probably $50.00 $100.00 each core values depending on condition.

They have been sitting in a crate for at least 30 years, so probably cores at best. Amazing selection of weird stuff he hung onto. Dual coil, dual point distributor, shifters that i have no idea what they fit, pulleys, gears, etc. It's like going thru a time machine!

Those carbs will be fine with a rebuild kit and a good passage cleaning IF they sat with fuel in it. A properly working dual point distributor is a kick ass unit.
