Anyone have experience with these? good or bad? I know they are a descendent of the old Firestones, and I was always happy with them. I'm looking at 14x32 for a 2500lb doorslamer with 700 hp, just a bracket car. Any and all input is welcome. Thanks.

We have MT's on now but have used Phoenix in in the past with success.
I wouldn't be afraid to mount up a set and go racing tomorrow if that helps you.

Had them on the car when we bought it, but I'll never buy another set. They didn't lose air, or give me any issues, but my Hoosiers are night and day more consistent in the 60', and quicker. Hoosiers are more expensive, but they work, and could offset themselves very easily if you're bracket racing.

These two swear by them.

How old are they now? The reason I'm asking is they will deteriorate with age and not works as good as new
That being said a friend of mine bought a 440 powered 1971 Bracket Duster from a guy in Las Vegas, he had quit racing it three years before due to the tranny going away. That car had set in his driveway with both rear 14x32x15 Phoenix slicks flat and out in the sunlight, he wasn't told that the tranny was bad so he ask me to make a couple of passes in the car. I did a long burn out and that car dead hooked from run one with those old tires
The tranny slipped going into high gear so it needed fixing which he took care of and those old tires lasted a lot longer than I expected
I run M/T now but I may switch to Hoosiers on my next set for my current bracket car

Have ran the Phoenix tires, for a long time,,my car loves them,,,I switched to Hoosiers 3 seasons ago, when the Phoenix became unavailable, and the car didn't like the hoosiers,,would blow the tires off for no apparent reason,,so when the Phoenix became available again, I went back to them, and the car. is deadly again,,will be rolling a new set on, in a couple of weeks, for the up coming season, oh by the way, I had Phoenix on the car when I won the 2009 IHRA SSS World Championship,,

Phoenix/Firestone user for years. Never had any problems with them.

I have nothing to compare them with. Phoenix bias slicks hook for me and my son. 1st year with them racing and have no complaints. We don't do a big burnout with them either.

Had run phoenix 29.5X11.5 for years couple of years ago I back halfed the car and put a set of 14X31 goodyears on and couldn"t wait till they were worn out so I could go back to phoenix again,, 14X32 Phoenix on and car is happy again.

Heard good things about phoenix slicks and they will work. But, MTs are the top of the line IMO. Why aren't those a option for you?

Been running Phoenix 13.6-32 radial, at 17 lbs. pressure. Hooks hard every time, and drives great. Sometimes a bit hard to drive with the front wheels in the air.

about 15 years ago we switched from the Phoenix/Firestone to a Hoosier slick on my Mirada. 17 passes and I bought another set of Phoenix. I'm not sure what was wrong with the car, but the Phoenix sure worked on it. My dad always ran them on his Duster, but after I acquired it, we switched to M/T. They support a lot of little races (as well as big ones) in the western US and I wanted to support those who support my hobby. I will say after some launch rpm tuning, we've gotten the M/T to work even better on the hot tracks we usually have out here.

A lot of Super Stock guys love the Phoenix tires, cant be all bad for sure. I ran them years ago on my Duster and never had an issue. Just a 9.70 car with a 14x32 om it. I have since gone to M/T and cant go back

I couldn't get them to work any better that the smaller phoenix and lasted about half as long

I thought the Phoenix slicks to be pretty good, only issue with the pair we had was they were a bit taller than the designated 29.5 by an inch. Hence they fouled the front of the rear wheel opening at speed so we had to change them.

Love our Phoenix tires. My pontiac and Dodge are pulling very low 1.30 and running in the 9s on the 28.5-9-15 Phoenix slicks and of coarse my wifes Dart hooks in a mud puddle on her 29.5-10.5 Phoenix tires.I cant hook either car on Hoosiers without adding some ballest to the rear but the MTs were a close second to the Phoenix brand.

I ran Phoenix slicks on my Super Stock car..even wore out they hooked with no problem. Wouldn't hesitate running them again!

Phoenix worked the best on my Dartsport that ran high 9's. And they worked til there were cords showing.

The largest circumference, smallest section width for the size I use. (11.5-29.5-15). My car is built for that tire. The others are tiny, in comparison. It's all in what works for the car combo.
