Looks like it's all 1/8 mile for box/no box so if thats the case you will not see me there too often. Too bad as it looks to be a great facility. Some of you guys better get over your hate of 1/8 mile racing. Its coming. I like 1/4 mile racing too but its a win win for the tracks with track prep costs and races finishing earlier saving electric and employee pay.

Agreed John...the more I'm forced to race 1/8, the more I like it (not to redirect this thread). I'm disappointed to see DW42 moved away from Sunday racing though. I was looking forward racing both Saturday and Sunday, or having another option in case Saturday gets rain.

I will never get over not liking 1/8 mile. Don't enjoy it near as much as 1/4 mile. That will never change. If everywhere I could race went to 1/8 mile tomorrow I would be done drag racing and find another hobby.

All I can add is the faster you go the more enjoyment you can get from racing 1/8 mile. In box class it also cuts down on some of the advantage the dragsters get. And there are LOTS of dragsters in box class.

All I can add is the faster you go the more enjoyment you can get from racing 1/8 mile. In box class it also cuts down on some of the advantage the dragsters get. And there are LOTS of dragsters in box class. Even when I was a very competitive racer with a 9 sec car, I never considered it anything more than fun. It would never be anything in the big picture but an expensive hobby that would never replace my day job. Because of that, it's fair to want to do it how I enjoy it the most. Not because of this advantage to dragsters or that advantage to a tracks program getting done earlier in the evening. In short, if I spend my hard earned money, and my valuable time on something, I want it to be on terms agreeable to me, or it's not worth it. Years ago I golfed a lot, and really enjoyed it a lot. Got away from it with my hip issue( which I am getting close to addressing), I could see myself just street cruising with a muscle car and getting back into a round of golf in my spare time if 1/8 was all that was available I am 61, have a 1/4 mile track near me that I do 90% of my racing at. If that dries up, I will get out, and probably not lose much sleep over it. I take vacation to travel out of the country, see things, enjoy the beach and recharge, have never been one to take time off work to race. Norwalk has been the only exception for years and years. And it's just a couple days.

Every once in awhile I think about selling everything and moving South. I could see myself sitting around in a pair of white deck shoes sipping drinks with umbrellas in them. Then I come to my senses. LOL

I don't really care for 1/8th mile either. I will always prefer it when running test and tune and going for a new best.
However, I changed my mind on it last year when I won my first bracket race and it was 1/8th mile haha.

Then I come to my senses. LOL Why sell everything, I've been going south every year for abut 17 years, take the car with and race during the winter. Head back to Michigan when racing starts back up.
it's ok to butt heads, just don't do it with a butthead
