reproducing build sheets is illegal, chrysler has a copyright or trademark of some kind on them. call galen govier of gts for a breakdown and letter of registry for a fee. i had a yellow 71 rr in 72 with the black canopy vinyl roof, in virginia. 383 auto. its the heads, crank, and cam from a 440 that makes it a hp motor, 71's were rated at 300 hp but that was after the the change in how hp was calculated in order to help with the crazy insurance costs. i'm restoring one now, if you need more info, email is rodee71@gmail.com. good luck, Bob

Nice car!!Well worth a factory original resto.I have heard of people finding a build sheet above the gas tank as well on occasion.

The horsepower rating system didn't change from gross to net until 72.
In 71, Chrysler dropped the compression ratios on most engines so they would run on regular instead of premium. The 383 HP went from 9.5:1 to 8.5:1, and the horsepower went from 335 to 300.

I'm gonna be spending some time looking around for another build sheet inside the car. I only looked under the back seat and found the remains of one but a rat or mouse got to it for nesting. I pulled the gas tank twice so i know its not there. As for the paint, I know about the stripes on the bumper. I think the vinyl with strobe stripe is very unique for a RR.
This car is an origional california car and it does have the turn down tips.

Well guys that's a negative on a second build sheet. Checked underneath the shifter console, under the dash, behind the glove box, bottom cushions of the buckets, and the seat backs. The only place I didn't check was under the carpet which I would be surprised if they actually put one underneath it.

I`ll add a quick note, of the 3 St Louis built ( G in the VIN) 71`s i`ve owned, 2 of them had build sheets on top of the gas tank, the current one i`m doing is a Los Angeles build and did not which is too bad as the top of the tank looked like it was brand new.

Take the time to drop the tank and check.

Rick

Mine doesn't have it above the gas tank. I pulled that gas tank out twice so far to flush and repair, so I know its not there.

One last spot to check quickly is the transmission tunnel next to the console. I found one there,it was taped there then carpeted and console installed....

Pat: I have found build sheets under the carpet so you still have a chance. At least you have the data plate. Your car has cool options and it is definetly worthy of a proper restoration. That is a one year only colour and the other options just add to the desireability.

ALL completely restored in the garage your seeing by me. Didn't do the engine machining and sewing of seats(of course) but that's it! 6-way seat brackets by the way!
