Would anyone have a schematic or picture showing the vacuum routing from and to a Strato Vent heater control? I've got most of it figured out but for the life of me, I cant figure out where the lines pass through the firewall to connect to a vacuum source and to the heater valve mounted on the inner fender.

Ok. let's try something easier but on the same topic. After sifting through my spare parts boxes, I found an interesting grommet Mopar PN# 3431279. It has 2 small holes in it which i think would be perfect for passing 2 vacuum hoses through the firewall. Could someone verify that this is the correct grommet to use on Strato Vent systems for 1971 B body Plymouths?

it looks to me like you hit paydirt!..that appears to be it to me
and guess what??
i just found some strato vac lines i wasn't aware i had
it was stuffed inside of my heaterbox
but one of the lines is broken..
also there is a little more to the lines
there is a tee and what appears to be a small check valve
before the controller.

That seems to be what it is too. The vac lines with the one way check valve are part of the circuit from the vac source. The "T" is installed I believe just above the Vac actuator and the rest of the line exits the firewall on it's way to the water valve. Congrats to both of us. These parts are somewhat rare in usable condition. I have about 27 " from the control side and the same length coming from the vac source to the control. I believ I cvan rebuild what I need using new line and a green paint pen and a white paint pen.

Type in keyword "Mopar Strato Vent" and see what you come up with.

Which makes sense since the C bodies used a different model but at least it doesn't come up with any more kitchen exhaust fans.

Would anybody have a pic of the correct hole locations for a 1971 Roadrunner automatic with the Strato Vent option? I forget the code. Just a pic that shows where the vacuum lines come out the firewall. I need to know where to put the grommet.
Thanks Lou

There should be a hole on the lower passenger side firewall below the blower motor and just a little to the right (looking from the front of the car).
Can send photo if this doesn't locate it well enough for you. Should be two holes in the grommet. One to pick up vacuum from the engine to supply vacuum to the HVAC unit. The other vac line comes back from the HVAC unit to the vacuum actuated heater valve in the engine compartment. At least that's how I remember it on my 71 Charger w/AC. Yours may have a cable actuated heater control valve. I can't remember when they changed to that (I think in 73).

Picture of the 2 hole grommet is up above in a previous post. Your summary sounds correct. Mine is vacuum activated at the water valve. Also mine is non A/C. Don't have a water valve yet but will have one soon. Would really appreciate a photo but what you have suggested helps.

Question though: if the hole is a little to the right and below the blower motor, wouldn't that be the original hole location for the Air Grabber vacuum lines going to the vac canister as well? Would there be 2 holes in that location side by side for Strato Vent cars with Air Grabber in that case?

Can't speak to the air grabber plumbing as mine doesn't have that. Could be that they used a three hole grommet, I just don't know.
I've attached a photo (hope it get there)of the grommet for my car.
Also, if indeed yours takes a vac actuated heater control valve located on the passenger side inner fender; be aware that the oem style that is made of phenolic, though correct, does not last long in the very hot environment near the exhaust manifold (especially with a 440). I've gone through three of those types and finally settled on the better all metal style which is still correct but less widely used.
Well, I tried to send photo but no go. Having difficulty figuring how to attach photo file. Sorry

My 71 Super Bee had the N96 location to the right of the heater inlet/outlet. Circled in pic. The Strato Vent vacuum lines were down by the blower motor as mentioned above. Best pic I have as I no longer have that one.

Ok I do see your Ram Charger vac lines within the red circle but don't see where the Strato Vent vac line exits the firewall in the photo. Is it visible or far below the heater? I can see the water valve ok and I can see the vac line where it is connected to the valve but it goes up toward the vacuum reservoir and then disappears. This is helpful. 71 Muffin, your pic didn't show through so I can't see your grommet but have a look at mine way above and tell me if it is identical or near the same.
