A while back I removed this unit from the trunk area of a 71 or 72 Charger in a yard.
It was positioned between the rear speakers under the parcel shelf.
As far as I know it is a factory part because it had wiring from the front back plus I have seen one other.
Looks a bit like the old style reverberator but is not.
Anyone know if it was an option and what its function was ?

Actually Greg is right.
THAT was taken from a 1967 Plymouth, gotta be the reverberator...I grabbed the wrong one for pictures.

THIS is the unit I should have posted the pictures of.

This was the one taken from the 71 Charger because I labelled it.
Took the original wiring from the front back as shown .
Number on the unit says 2820192...cant find it in the 71 parts book

Unit is a Vibrasonic, a mono reverb unit that had a suspended spring and amplifier system to provide an echo sound to the rear speaker. Original technology came from Hammond Organ, made popular by Motorola sold for $29.95 including 6x9" speaker in the mid-60s...

Just my $0.02... wink

Thanks Sinitro....
It must have been an accessory that Chrysler contacted from Vibrasonic as it has the part number and pentastar
