I cant believe I'm asking what I thought was a question I could answer myself fairly easily...but can someone help ID this 318 engine? based on my limited research it looks like a 1987 engine but I have no idea what application. It does NOT have the roller lifters that I though might be there and it does have the "302" heads.
Engine stamping is 7M31809041220 and the casting # looks to be 4387530 318 7. The pad on the right side by the pan rail is blank.
Thanks.
Scott

1987 model year Mounds Rd built 318.
Probably came in a pickup or van.
IIRC only passenger cars got the roller cam.

4bbl pass cars got a flat tappet cam and 360 heads, not 302 castings.

Not sure what trucks/vans got in 87 for heads, no roller cam though.

They say there are no such thing as a stupid question.
They say there is always the exception that proves the rule.
Don't be the exception.

Thanks guys, I suspected a truck or van but couldn't match the casting number to anything.
