Was there ever any made?
If so was it hyraulic or mech actuated?
I wanna convert my -89 b250 to 4 speed but if there was never any made i guess it would be too much work to make it happen.
Oh and if they were made does anyone know were i could find the clutch actuating stuff?
Thanks

To my knowledge the only standard trans offered in the '89 van was the A535 5-speed and it is hydraulic.

Ok thanks.
so i guess it would be doable.
Any help finding a pedal assy and a bellhousing that works with the a833 would be highly appreciated. I figure the master and slave can be bought new?

yes, mid 80s van used the 833OD 4 speed and was a mech linkage.
some mid 70s vans had the 3 speed manual trans as well.

the shifter was bent forward as it sat a little back in the floor next to the driver seat. same truck shifter just a handle bent in reverse.

some of the mid 80s truck mech linkage will work but the van does have some van specific pieces that need to be found.

you could convert it to hydro clutch with some of the 88-93 truck hydro parts. such as hydro bell/MC/slave cyl

on van linkage any of the /6 linkage would be the same as only the bell housing would change.

So an -89 van came with hydro clutch?
That means that if i get a pedal assy and clutch master cyl i could use the early dakota bell with hyd slave right?
What years dakota should i get the bell from?
Thing is in this part of the world theres no way i will find that stuff.

Don't know about the 80s stuff. The later Dakotas had the AX-15 5-spd which has a removable bell but only fits the AX transmission, or a Toyota Supra R-154 trans. The NV3500 was a heavier trans rated to 350 ft lbs but has a integral bell that cannot be removed.
