After running a gated shifter since 2000 I've decided to go with a ratchet shifter. Call me lazy but since buying a Jeep Grand Cherokee with a joystick style shifter I've grown to prefer a shifter that returns to center. I decided on a B&M Stealth Pro Ratchet shifter with a Magnum button grip. I can't wait to get this shifter installed and start banging gears!

I love my Pro Ratchet in the race car but I didnt
want the little lever to shift into reverse or park
in my street rod so I went with a Quick silver(B&M)
and its been in there about a year or so.. I dont
like lifting the stick when its in drive to get into
reverse and park so I just picked up a new shifter..
another B&M(Star Shifter)...its a ratchet also. as is
the Quick Silver BUT they dont center like the Pro Ratchet

Good to hear you guys are still liking yours. I already sold the gated shifter so there's no turning back now smile

One thing I wonder is did you mount them on the floor or did you raise them up a bit? I'm thinking of building a stand to get it just above my elbow height. Just like fitting handle bars on our motocross bikes we'd sit on the bike in the riding position, raise our hands above our heads, close our eyes, then grab for the bars to establish the width. I saw the Pro Stockers looked like they had them up high - or maybe their seats were a lot lower, but the angle looked like when they pulled the lever they were almost pulling downward.

I'm sure I'm overthinking this but I figure since I'm already reorienting the cockpit, why not set the shifter too.

Thanks for your input!

I built a riser for mine.. its moly tubing that
I bend up so it mounted the the chassis and had
pull pins so I could take the whole shifter off
in a couple of seconds

Good idea MR_P_BODY. Looks very clean too.

ProSport - that interior is ultra nice! Sorry to get off topic but is the carpet factory? I need to replace mine.

Thanks for the replies!

Mines mounted like Prosports, love it. No need to raise it IMO. Fits my body arm swing action just right.

Good to hear Sport440.
I'm going to test fit it this weekend. The handle is pretty tall so if I can I'd like to keep it low and clean, and hide the wires and cable.

I've also been called out by my kid to represent in RSN at BIR so it's form over fashion!!!

Good luck with it as I hope it works good for you. I may the different one but I just never could get to like the ratchet shifter myself but my brother likes them. I just like to know what gear I am in when I look at the shifter as I like each gear having its different posistion. But thats just me as I notice many or most like the ratchet shifters. I like the B & M Pro Stick I use as I have always liked their shifters that I have used. So you should be very happy with your shifter. Ron

They're just generic sport seats with fake leather, I scored them off Ebay for $100 each and they came with sliders which I bolted right to the floor. I wish they were an inch wider but I like them. All the sport seat brands are about the same design, although the Summit brand seats are a little wider than mine which I think is a good thing.

Do yo know what they came out of.. I have to
have a small width seat.. the Scat which Summit
sells are as wide as I can go and I would have
to push the cushion in the the out side edge a
little bit.. I like them for the side support

I was able to spend some time on the stand and got the switches mounted up. Everything is fitted now just need to do some final cleanup and paint it. I think I'm going to hide the wires inside the shifter skirt and feed them down with the shifter cable.
