This is strange - this just started a few days ago. 3.6L engine & the car has about 37,000 miles on it. After the car is warmed up & you are sitting at a stop, there is a strong burning rubber smell - like a belt is smoking. I've looked under the hood several times & the smell is more prevalent on the drivers side, but no smoke & nothing sounds or looks out of place. There is nothing wrapped around the exhaust pipes under the car. It's strongest inside the car. I tried Googling this, but no good clues. Anybody have any ideas? Any techs know about this problem?

Isn't the car still under warranty?
I'd take it back and let them fix it.
Are there cam plugs on the back of the heads? If so, that could be leaking oil and causing the smell.

3/36 warranty is expired now. I doubt this would be covered under the drivetrain warranty, which is 5/100,000 I believe. I'll have to get it to the dealer this week & bite the bullet. Just wondered if there is a TSB out on this or something??
