Do you guys just use the sealant embedded in the gasket or do you lay down extra silicon?

Haven't done one in a while, but IIRC, the replacement gaskets have steel sandwiched in them? I think I cleaned/wiped it down good and probably applied a thin layer of quick set yellow gorilla snot trim adhesive on before gasket.

I added RTV to supplement the gasket for insurance

Permatex high tack spray sealer if you are worried about it. Otherwise, nothing at all.

Buy a Magnum Plenum Repair Kit from Hughes Engines. Don't reuse the flimsy steel plenum cover.

I didn't use any sealer. It's been almost two years and 10-12k miles or so. Stock cover and probably a FelPro gasket.

I been using a thin layer of "right-stuff" on either side of the paper gasket or steel core gaskets and they last really well.

I agree. Never worry about it again.
