My 1999 Durango randomly stalls while driving. Sometimes it will start right up, other times it takes 10+ minutes before it will restart. It cranks over fine, and you can hear the fuel pump come on. The radio goes off when it stalls. Any ideas?

Ignition switch?
Does anything else go off?

Another vote for ignition switch. Actually the wires at the connector at the ignition switch. Years to the tilt wheel going up and down caused the wires to fry and pull out of the connector. If I recall from the schematic, there were two different switched leads feeding different parts of the electrical system. Also had an intermitant fuel pump relay, but that wouldn't account for the radio going off.

I will look at the connector this weekend. I don't know if anything else goes off or not. We haven't used the tilt since we got it, but who knows how much it was used before we got it. Thanks for the suggestions! I would like to be able to trust it because my wife usually uses it in the winter, I drive the 67 utiline. IT has a better heater than the Durango.

No help on your original problem, but in regards to your comment about the heater...

The durangos and dakotas love to plug up their heater cores. Common issue with them not making any heat. Unhook your heater hides at the front of the engine, and backflush it with a garden hose. Top off the radiator with a radiator flush solvent and drive it a week. Then repeat the back flushing. Should improve your heater function
