I bought a used GZ pump off of a member on here, it was the next higher price unit above the cheapest one and it pulls around five inches at 5000 RPM in neutral on my 505 C.I. BB wedge bracket motor. That motor has 1/16,1/16 3/16 ring pack and it wasn't built for a vacuum pump to start with so that may have something to do with that low reading work My next motor will have a Moroso three vane vacuum pump on it, I'm shooting for between 12 and 15 inches at or above 5000 RPM with .043,.043 and 3MM low tension ring pack so maybe that will seal better luck

I did, I don't have a gauge in the car to read so who knows what it is reading at WOT during the run confused
Maybe I should swap pumps and see if it is better, worse or the same work

Or hook up a gauge....we have a Racepak so we can monitor it. If reading get too low we can tell if it has a ring going bad.

That thing runs under the index anyway. I recommend you save the money and spend it on GOOD beer. Let me know your decision, and I'll show up to help consume it.

Cab, that 3 vane moroso won't make that much unless you spin it 1.1 and still doubt it will make that. While the GZ is a good pump, Star Machine seems to be the gold standard in pumps. That's what we have switched most everything over to.

I purchased a low end pump from GZ a long time ago. They did not offer a kit for a small block at the time but he worked with me to get it mounted.

I would say the after sale support was very good.

I run a Moroso 4 vane now that would suck the engine inside out if I would let it.

Bill

Casey mine has a GZ. Pulls about 5-6 at idle, 10-11 at speed (on the vacuum gauge). I found the stuff to be nice. And you know I'll be there to drink the beer.

Monte I am told the 4 vane Moroso will pull more. What do you think?
Enhanced design a waste of money?
Thanks, Don

Our new 765 has a 4 vane Moroso. Not happy with it either. Switching this one to a Star as well

Agree with Monte, star machine here. Did my research before I bought and wanted to do it once. Top notch product.

I have a star mountain motor pump I will take $300 for. It is off of the Rick jones motor. It might be to much for a NSS car, might be able to spin it slower. It made 20 in on an 825 inch motor. 812 569 0494. It is in great shape.
