I have a 70 cuda and bought an inline tube parking brake cable .where the cable attaches to the foot mechanism the clamp that holds the cable is to small... any solutions?

Here is a picture of the cable.I can not install the clamp since the head is to big on the cable end.If I clamp it before the head the arm will not go back far enough to turn off the brake light ..

Except to say repop parts suck
And here is a bump for you.
I was looking at those inline kits
For my 71 but now I will try
To clean up and use my originals

On a 70 b body it does not clamp over the large end like you are trying it only clamps a small portion cable ,slid it back some and try it, beside the way you have it will interfere with the release rod may be the same for e body

Pattyboy is right, slide it back down the hole and install the clamp. The object is to keep the housing from pulling up through the floor when depressing the pedal. You need the heavy collar against the bracket to hold it down. There's not much tension pulling it back (return springs on cables inside rear drum backing plates). Here's a pic of mine.
