I have a pulling truck and the battery is located in the tool box and that is where the master switch is also located. I am wanting to move the battery under the hood but leave the master switch where it is. My question is with the extra cable I'm going to have to run from the front of the truck to the tool box will this affect the performance of the battery or will it not matter

Not if you use large enough cable. I'd recommend 1/0 gauge (aka 0 gauge) and it should work just fine.

How about using a 100 % heavy duty rated R.V. solenoid between the battery and the main cable feed from the battery to the main electrical system feed and turn it on and off from the switch in the tool box with a 14 gauge wire work scope up
