Greg, I am currently tearing it down myself... I have found some other issues to make me never deal with Stanton Racing ever again. I don't even have the pistons I was told were being used.... they did install a .010" shim under the block side of the seal. However they are using Felpro seals. I've also discovered rod bearing scoring on 6 of 8 rods. This motor only has a 1000 miles on it at best. With the oil and filter changed twice in that time. The piston installed and the ones I was told was installed are 1 full point of compression lower. I.e.... I'm at 9.5-1 instead of the 10.2-10.5 I was told it would be. Just a very bad experience. twocents

I doubt ID marks are going to tell you anything ... put a seal cap in the block and it should be fairly easy to see if it's off.

running up my post count some more .

Usually a picture is worth a thousand words......

I can describe that one in three....... Has No Clue!

That may be one of the great contributors to the leak. Installing a shim on the back side of the seal thinking it's going to reduce the lip I.D. for a greater interference fit on the crank surface is misguided at best.

That's like taking a .010" under crank and using standard bearings with a .010" shim behind them thinking your going to cure the clearance problem...... AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN!

Get out your magnifying glass and tell me the numbers/letters that are molded into the seal lip area please.

A couple of suggested band-aids. Use a mechanical vacuum pump and get a custom made diaper with absorbent. Change the absorbent when needed.

Greg black seals with felpro on the side, p-91020-1 in the middle and a 6 on the other side.

And yes Todd, when I put the orange seals side by side with the black ones, the orange seem to be a bigger seal??? You were correct!
