Any advice on what you guys think are the best stroker kits out there for a 340? I was looking at the ones on Hughes Engines and the ones listed on ebay and all of them have tons of options and I'm not sure what the best is. What rods, pistons or cranks do you guys think are the best to go with? My car isn't gonna be a full blown race car but I want to be able to take down anything I run into on the street. No plans for nitrous so I should be fine with the cast parts right? Any advice appreciated.

i would imagine you don't have any fast cars on the streets in your area. for example, around here, a cast sb stroker kit in a E body would gets its butt handed to it regularly by most any mustang, or even a new challenger, ford lightning, etc. i don't know how fast you want to go or what heads you have to go with it. just a little more info would help.

Im going to be getting either the 340 X heads with maybe a good 3 angle valve job, the Edelbrock aluminum RPM's or the new mopar aluminum heads. My budget is most likely enough to get the aluminum heads and the kits that I've seen for around $1,500. Im only 18 so I don't have a ton of money to go all out on this motor, and the car still needs the body work and paint finished up. I would like the car to go into the 12's if possible.

12's are easy with a stock 340 stroke & heads in a E body 'cuda. i managed 12.8@108 with J heads & a home port job, an old set of jahns forged pistons @ 10.8 cr & a hughes solid cam that was 250@50, an M1 with a stock 750 dp. trans had a TA 3500 verta & the 8 3/4 had 3.9 gears. with more cubes you'll be at the pointy end of the 12's if not high 11's.
