As you know, the door glass on the Challengers drops about a 1/2" when you open the door, and goes back up when the door closes. I just now discovered that when sitting parked, shut off and unattended, the glass is doing its up and down thing all by itself, about every 10 seconds. I tried cycling through the power door lock and window switches a few times, thinking a switch was stuck, but no help there. If I unlock the car and the headlights come on and stay on, and the window doesn't cycle, but when the headlights shut off, the window starts its up and down cycle by itself. Any ideas as to what the problem is?

The most dumbest design ever. I hate this feature. Have to keep a butter knife in the trunk to break the frozen seal on the rubber weatherstripping during the colder months. I quit driving it for the winter once the snow falls.

I had a different issue with my driver's side glass last summer, where the window cycling stopped working and the window only would go down a couple inches when I'd push the switch to try to get the window down. Fortunately after a couple weeks it started to work properly again and has ever since, hope it continues that way. luck
But while I was having this issue, I was searching the internet trying to find if anyone else had this problem, and if so what caused it. I didn't find anyone discussing a problem like mine, but I do remember running across a number of threads on forums where people were having the continuous up and down cycling issue. Some people were coming out in the morning to find their batteries dead because of it. I don't recall if anyone posted what the cause and solution was, but you might try doing a search for "Challenger power window problems" and I'm sure you'll find people discussing this issue.

Thanks for all the help guys. As we speak, it's fixed. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Problem started yesterday evening, and was still doing it this a.m., so I drove my Dakota to work. I called the dealer, and was told it could be one of 3 problems. Door latch most likely, then door handle, then window regulator. Dealer estimate was 200.00 to 350.00, plus diagnostic time.

I went home at lunch. Problem still persisted. I started the car, and yes the battery was on it's way down, but car started. I let it run awhile. Problem only happened when car was shut off, not when it was running. Hearing that the latch was the number one culprit, I juiced up the door latch with white lithium grease, cycled the door open and closed a few times, and Bingo, the problem went away. With any luck, it was a one and done issue! Here's hoping it doesn't rear its ugly head in the future.

Try resetting the memory on the windows.

If you accidently hold the switch in the full down, or full up position, for about ten seconds you will inadvertently reset the window regulator memory.

Just do a internet search for how to program it, it's really easy.

Happened to me once on my 2009 Challenger...

Thanks, but I already had the dealer fix it. It was a broken, shorted wire in the door, which fragged out the door latch.
