I remember an old thread from Strokerpost, he made an air pan under the radiator that netted him a couple MPH. Some guys block off the grill also with lexan.

Yeah, pretty much what the subject line states. Can the addition of a front spoiler to reduce air under the car, or some other aerodynamic improvements I haven't thought of, improve ET?

It probably depends on the car body style and how fast the car is now One of the local Pro bracket racers with a BB powered 541 C.I. Indy headed motor pick up right at .15 ET and 2 MPH ( his car runs low tens to high nines in the 1/4 mile)by putting a spoiler under the radiator cross support to block air going under the K member, he made it the same width as the front sub frames, not full width and around 5 inches deep, NHRA legal

It probably depends on the car body style and how fast the car is... E body running 100+ in the 1/8th and 125+ in the 1/4.

I have the factory spoiler on the front.. but I was loosing traction at 135 and the car was REAL loose I added a rear wing on my car and it picked up in MPH and was way more stable.. now I'm running 152 mph and it drives great.. this is a short wheel base car so most would think its can be unstable but its far from it with the rear wing... I talked to the wind tunnel guys at work to help figure this out and I came up with a couple of different designs to ad in the stability.. I first had a 45* angle on the back of the deck lid then changed it over to a longer flat style which I still run.. this was day and night different on my short deck lid style car EDIT With JUST the rear wing/spoiler I picked up 3 mph and .15 and thats all I changed.. plus it drives great now

IIRC the grill open area only needs to be 1/3 of the radiator core area.

We ran one of the old mopar performance spoilers on our duster for years, one day at the track I was trying anything and everything to get the car to go 9s it would just hang out at 10.001 or 2. I came back and decide to take it off and try it, the car went 9.93 without it. And handled the same with or without. It's never went back on after that .. Just my experience.. Had a similar result from blocking my grill area w/lexan...........on went 10.20 something off 10.10 and picked up +1 mph iirc........
