You would be best served to search what Crutchfield has available. Component speakers are the best sounding but also cost the most. There are some great 6" and 6 1/2" round speakers available just make sure they're not a mid bass only. I'd look at something 5 1/2"-6 1/2" round that is a 2 or 3 way speaker. For stereo from a single speaker location you need a "dual voice coil" speaker...it has the left channel and the right channel in a single cone. They come in all the common speaker sizes.

A "coaxial" speaker covers the full spectrum of sound - from bass to the high treble notes - so you want coaxial speakers or speaker. Also, automotive is most commonly 4 OHM, sometimes 2 OHM (my 2001 300M uses 2 OHM speakers, which are hard to find). Home stereo components are 8 OHM. Look at speakers & all kinds of components at www.parts-express.com . I've bought a lot of stuff from them over the past few years.

I actually found this. home wall mount speaker, but it seems to fit the mount almost perfectly. Some over hang, so I will have to see if it will bolt up to the dash frame, or I might have to do some trimming.

You run those speakers and you'll fry your head unit.

I believe if you run 8 OHM speakers in a car it will just not be very loud. I don't think it will do any damage. Takes more power to drive the 8 OHM speaker & will not be as efficient.

I believe the 8Ω-4Ω dilemma is mostly a problem with old tube-type amplifiers, modern solid state amplifiers won' be damaged with wrong impedance speakers.

Not too sure that speaker is a stereo one, you need two inputs to have stereo, this speaker has one input (+ and -)

Correcto... But solid state amplifiers put out more power as the impedence decreases, power output in 4 Ohms is 2 x that @ 8 Ohms.. Just my $0.02...

Home speakers have little or no UV (ultra-violet) protection from the sun of their cone material, and will self-destruct in a very short time in an auto application... Just my $0.02...
