I used an RJS blanket with no problems. The straps were a little long and needed some trimming. I liked the old CSR shield for stock floor, fit well in a '63 Belvedere. I also had a TCI shield at one time but that one won't fit a stock floor.

Lofgren makes a shorter blanket also, if he is still selling them.
Ultrabell is also an option.

I don't think Chuck sells them anymore.... been forever since I've talked to him though.

I bought one and took it to an automotive upholstery shop. They were able to shorten it. They weren't happy doing it because they broke a couple of needles doing it. We have a couple of leatherwork shops around as well. They said they can do it without any issues. They do a lot with horse saddles and really thick leather.

As long as you don't need it to be SFI certified, then that's OK.

As far as I know Lofgren has been out of the blanket business for a while.

The Ultrabell only covers the converter, not the cast front drum and that is what hurts when it explodes and comes through the floor frown
