Got a question for you all that know these hoods.
I have 2 71 super bee's, one with the power bulge with the super bee insert and one with the air grabber/ramcharger hood and the cowl vents at the back of the hood are different as the power bulge has the split in the center.So I got looking at pics and saw this white Bee with a ramcharger hood and it has the split like a power bulge hood? Was there a half year thing?

There's even more variations than those two. I'm pretty sure the split came in late 71. Its a somewhat common sight on 72 hoods.

Ive been told the split is 72, but late 71 makes sense too.

Here's a good photo of the original paint hood on my old & now deceased 71 Hemi Charger. I don't know the build date of the car, but I believe it was an early build car since the previous owner ordered it new.

I had a '71 Superbee with the non ramcharger insert in the hood. Only one set of cowl vents. Sorry, no pix.

So it sounds like there is no real reason to it?
