Can someone tell me or show me with pictures how to make sure I have an OEM shaker hood and not a repop. It's a 70 challenger.

Oblong drain holes on the underside shaker frame is a common tell on originals.

Post GOOD pictures of the underside of your hood and I'm sure we can get to the bottom of it.

Are they in the archive section? I've never had a chance to compare an OEM hood until now.

Now the question is; How good are your comparative analysis skills?

As I said before, post pictures of YOUR example.

Well, my phone can't show me the detail like I need. I have photos of closeups on my home computer that I took a year ago, so I can post those later tonight. I have the car at my shop now so any picture is possible now. Mine has two crumple zones just like the one pictured. The main thing I noticed is there are only spot welds holding the two bottom pieces together. It would be impossible to put a spot weld like this on a hood that already had the top portion on it. Someone could have gone to the trouble to fake those but it would be hard. Secondly, the top where the trim ring is installed is very crip and looks stamped to me. It does not look like a Bondo job.

I probably need to add that this hood had been on this car long before AMD started making hoods.
