There's a clip on the wiper where it attaches to the spline on the cowl, if it's your first time you might want to put some masking tape or something around the area so if you slip you don't mess up the paint. I just use something to move the clip (small screwdriver) and pull up a bit till you can see that the clip is over the splines then grab both sides of the wiper (right where it attaches to the splines) and pull straight up. It's easier to do on a car your getting ready to repair the because your not worried about scratching anything.
